Azurite is a mineral that consists of copper carbonate, it is produced from other copper minerals. Azurite can come in various forms, the most common of which are prismatic or tabular crystals ranging in color from azure to very dark blue. This mineral also occurs in the form of clusters. Azurite is a soft, sparse mineral, which is used as a paint pigment and as a dye. This mineral tarnishing over time, it is best to keep it protected from light, and without large temperature difference. Its name comes from the Persian word Lazhward which evokes the dark blue of the sky.
