Tiger's Eye is a variety of quartz, considered a fine stone, and characterized by its shimmering color ranging from golden to dark brown, including different shades of yellow and brown. This distinctive color is due to the presence of chemical elements which are gradually replaced by quartz while retaining a fibrous structure. The reflection of light on these fibers gives Tiger's Eye its shiny, iridescent appearance, known as chatoyance. This mineral is mainly found in South Africa, Australia and Burma. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, which makes it a fairly durable stone. Tiger's Eye is often used in jewelry for the manufacture of jewelry and decorative objects.
